"Loving In My Baby's Eyes" by Taj Mahal. You probably know this famous song. It was a Salt Licks standard that fell out of fashion with the band eventually. We just wore it out! However it played such a key role in the set list for a number of years, that I am truly grateful it was recorded in Short Dawg’s Sound Salon in Somerville. We tracked it LIVE with Brett Davis And Steve Mayone. After Steve heard us playing it in his studio, he asked that we play it again, and tracked it with himself on mandolin. He later added a multitude of things. Jeffrey Berlin eventually replaced Steve’s drum tracks with his own. Chris McGandy's pedal steel is absolutely divine and powerful. Hopefully my hero Taj Mahal would appreciate this version of his song and you will too!
